Yes to knockout like the matchplay. Probably off full handicaps, as it evens it out for the higher handicappers.

Stroke play comp. Plenty of time to enter, i know, but we need more than the dozen or so to make this worthwhile running! So start signing up, its off full handicaps with a nice trophy at the end of it.
Strokeplay for 2010. We did
Strokeplay for 2010.
We did not draw the names at Bondhay, as me and Stuart had a chat and wanted to see if there was anymore interest in this event, so held the draw back to Doncaster Town Moor. Come on members, there must be some more interest out there, otherwise we might as well not bother with it!
STROKEPLAY DRAW Due to the
STROKEPLAY DRAW
Due to the number of entrants being 20 it is necessary to have a preliminary round to drop the numbers to 16 for the 1st round. Once again the prelim & 1st round draws are regionalised but due to the different spread of entrants from the Matchplay comp, Nigel Culyer & Neil Beech are no longer southerners!!
Entry to the comp is £2.50 and should be paid to either Neil or myself at the Ramsdale Event even if you are out by then.
Players are to play off full handicaps with their current CGL handicap used at the time of the match with the lowest nett score going through to the next round. As in the matchplay comp players should decide beforehand what should determine the winner if the outcome is tied, this could include play again, a playoff hole/holes, countback, putt off, number of nett birdies etc
Courses should be mutually agreed between the 2 players, there is no home/away in the draw.
Preliminary Draw
Northern Section
Neil Beech (12) v Stuart Laws (9)
Michael Hopkins (24) v Nigel Culyer (16)
Preliminary Draw
Southern Section
James Illsley (18) v Paul Hughes (26)
Tim Hawkins (18) v Richard Cockerham (22)
Ideally these matches should be played before the Ramsdale event on the 6th June
1st Round - Northern Section
Eddie Pape (22) v Brian Pye (28)
Allan Bostock (8) v Michael Hopkins (24) / Nigel Culyer (16)
Neil Beech (12) / Stu Laws (9) V Rich Garner (21)
John Spencer (20) v Paul Sherwin (18)
1st Round - Southern Section
Kevin Mason (?) v Paul Hughes (26) / James Illsley (18)
Trevor Minchen (19) v Martin Millichip (6)
Darren Millichip (11) v Malcolm Fell (19)
Richard Cockerham (22) / Tim Hawkins (18) v Andy Adams (19)
These ties should be played by the Grassmoor event on the 17th July where the draw for the Quater finals will be made, again as with the Matchplay comp this will be an open draw and not regionalised.
Enjoy your golf
