Many players find it hard to play to their handicap at Beauchief Golf Course as some of the par threes are particularly demanding, several par 4s are testing and, for men, there is only one par 5.
A number of the holes cross a stream which runs through the course and one par 3 (for men) requires a tee shot over a pond so make sure you select the correct clubs otherwise you'll be reloading before you know it. There are trees both around and within the course which add to the many challenges you come across.
The key is to be accurate with approach shots and be wary of the well positioned bunkers and occasional hilly holes. For a helping hand, take a look at some of our course tips
Located near the junction with A621 Abbeydale Road, 5 miles SW of Sheffield, the course is accessed from J33 or J29 via the outer ring road.

Out-and-back format
The 10th tee is almost the furthest point from the clubhouse meaning a nine hole course, or other part-course rounds are not possible.
For Men
6 par 3 holes and one par 5, a length of 5469 yards giving a par of 67 and a standard scratch score of 66.
For Ladies
6 par 3 holes and 3 par 5, a length of 4903 yards giving a par of 69 and a standard scratch score of 69.

We need at least 12 people to
We need at least 12 people to make this an offical event to go towards the final standings for the summer league. Usually entry money of £3.00 each will give me enough to get a first trophy and nearest the pin/longest drive etc. Any more on top will see 2nd and possibly 3rd place prizes. Hope to see you all there
In case you have not played
In case you have not played Beauchief before, be prepared for some very hilly holes, some could be described as perilous.
The opening hole sets the tone. Playing from a raised tee, a carry over a valley leaves an uphill shot requiring 2 or more extra clubs.
It's a fun short but very challenging course where the driver is seldom required (and often the course of many disasters).

Just a quick thankyou to Richard for organising the event today, i thought the course, though not long ,was a good test with some very interesting holes and greens that could easily be 3 putted as i found out a couple of times!!
