We start of the Winter League 2012-2013 at Shirland Golf Club and this is no easy start.
Shirland can be a very tough course indeed with the par 3 8th standing out, how many will reach the green on this 235 yard tricky par 3?
First tee time is 12:30; meet an hour before for bacon rolls, coffee and banter!
Provisional tee times posted below. Tim and Dan are playing the match play plate final under the watchful gaze of Chuckle 1.

After Sundays turn out at the CGL Open (30 players) the day seemed to go great and it was nice to see some new faces.
Can i again ask you guys if you have any friends/relatives that you think would be interested to come along to the start of our Winter League series?
It would be great to start the new season with some new faces and regarding winning points/prizes then this is fine as long as you are vouching for their handicap.

With a couple of drop-outs there are a couple of spaces if anyone who hasn't yet registered fancies taking part in Winter League Event 1 on Saturday. Drop me a line if you're interested.
First event of the Winter
First event of the Winter League tomorrow and players are dropping like flies which is a shame as the weather (for once this year) looks quite good for the day. With low numbers attending its a good chance to get plenty of points and set your mark on the leaderboard on a hard course.
If anyone has any friends (and they can vouch for their handicap) who are interested in playing then they are welcome to come along and join us.
Hi James/John, I will be
Hi James/John, I will be able to drive down tomorrow (I thought Linda wanted the car but she doesn't now) so I can make it again. Sorry to mess you about. James ia there a practice area there?
Thanks for the offer of a lift Guns. I'm planning on going down a couple of hours earlier to get a bit of well needed chipping and putting practice in. I can pick you up Rich if getting there at 10am is not too early.

No worries Pat, it wil be
No worries Pat, it wil be good to see you.
Yes, there is a practice area and putting green but no range so you'll need to take your own balls. If this is a problem, let me know and I can leave my tube of practice balls in the pro shop for you to collect when you get there.
From the car park, you'll need to walk to the opposite side of the clubhouse and back down the 18th (keeping the green and fairway on your left. You will pass the 15th green on your right and then the 16th tee. The practice ground is just past there. You may have to find a quiet corner as they usually have kids' coaching from 10-ish on a Saturday morning. The putting green is next to the car park adjacent to the first tee.
See you tomorrow.
James.
Thanks for the info. James.
